Program

1. Baltic-style jewelry studio Baltu Rotas, including a meeting and conversation with the
studio owners or brand representatives    🕒  60 min

The family-owned brand Baltu Rotas was founded more than 25 years ago. Today, over 20 skilled artisans have joined the original founders — jewelers Inita and Vitauts Straupe. “As the foundation of our work, we draw on the rich heritage of ancient Baltic jewelry, which continues to amaze with its shapes, patterns, and stories. We’ve also created contemporary design collections inspired by nature. Baltu Rotas pieces have traveled to every inhabited continent, and it fills us with pride to hear that people recognize a wearer’s connection to Latvia through our jewelry. We’ve even welcomed visitors from faraway countries who were inspired to travel to Riga specifically because of our pieces,” say the studio’s owners.

2. ArisainT by Lena Lumelsky studio and an introduction to the brand’s accessory collection,
as well as the Lana Laukkanen x ArisainT by Lena Lumelsky jewelry line    🕒  60 min

The Latvian brand ArtisainT was created in collaboration with Belgian designer Lena Lumelsky, a graduate of the renowned Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. Her admirers include Queen Rania of Jordan, Hollywood actress Rooney Mara, singer Demi Lovato, actress and director Renata Litvinova, and other international style icons. The brand’s philosophy is to create not seasonal collections, but timeless wardrobes. In addition to clothing, the brand offers unique leather accessories — bags, berets, gloves, belts, harnesses — as well as jewelry crafted from leather and mixed materials, including rings, necklaces, earrings, and bracelets. An artisan Lana Laukkanen, who crafts accessories and jewelry in leather and mixed materials both for ArtisainT by Lena Lumelsky and as an independent maker. artisaint.eu @artisaint @lanalaukkanenofficial

3. Coffee break at “ KŪŪK” café     🕒  40 mins
“KŪŪK” is one of Riga’s most popular cafés, known for its pastries, cakes, and desserts made from local ingredients, as well as its all-day breakfast menu. @kuuk_cafe

4. Latvian design concept store “RIIJA”     🕒  40 min
RIIJA offers a wide selection of jewelry by Latvian designers — from the distinctive Latin-inscribed rings and earrings by VERBA (designer Anna Fānygina) to traditional Latvian-style “SAKTA” pieces, glass jewelry by GLASS BERRIES (designer Ieva Birgele), porcelain-accented designs by ROZENTHAL JEWELRY (designer Madara Rozentāle), and more. rija.lv @conceptstore_riija

5. SOFIA LARK jewelry and accessories boutique, including a meeting with the designer or
brand representatives     🕒  1 hour

The unique handmade pieces by SOFIA LARK reveal a different side of Latvian design — not minimalist, but vibrant, expressive, and full of life. Their earrings, necklaces, and charm bracelets will delight anyone who loves decorative, statement-making jewelry. The boutique also features natural silk and cashmere scarves, including designs printed with reproductions of works by renowned Latvian artists — part of a special collection created in collaboration with the Latvian National Museum of Art and the Antonia art gallery. sofialarkshop.com sallesunlakati.lv

Steph, our guide, was absolutely brilliant. Picked us up from our hotel and told us all about Riga on the commute to and from the bobsleigh track. The g-force bobsleigh was amazing (it feels like a roller-coaster) and we didn't have to wait long. There's also an observation deck where you can view the national park. The only downside was an error by the office staff overcharging us for the experience, which put a downer on the day, as I was told I wasn't able to do the bobsleigh unless we paid more. This was eventually resolved by the owner when he apologised for the error and confirmed no further payment was needed. I advise you pay the balance in full before the trip to avoid incompetent staff trying to overcharge you.
