Jump into atmosphere of real cuban party with latino music, cuban drinks “caipirinhas”, “caipirovskas” and “caipirissimos” in one of the best Riga bars around – “Cuba Cafe”. This “place with character” is located right in the centre of the Old Town on the Riga Dome Square next to the famous Riga Dome Cathedral.

“Cuba Cafe” is a right place to listen to Caribbean and Latin music, dance some salsa and have some real cuban cocktails. “Cuba” is very famous for unique positive atmosphere and open-minded people coming here.

They usually have live DJ sets on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, and it gets pretty packed then, but it’s far more awesome to have a party when it is that overcrowded. Every now and then salsa-dancers are coming to dance there too.

The menu also has some bar snacks, but you won’t find any decent kitchen food in there, which is a bit of a shame.

“Cuba” has a great open terrace as if made for all those long drinks, great talks on warm summer nights. And if you decide to enjoy a coffee or a coctail during a day while surfing web, bring a laptop with you, “Cuba Cafe” has a WiFi access (password: cubacuba123)

Steph, our guide, was absolutely brilliant. Picked us up from our hotel and told us all about Riga on the commute to and from the bobsleigh track. The g-force bobsleigh was amazing (it feels like a roller-coaster) and we didn't have to wait long. There's also an observation deck where you can view the national park.
The only downside was an error by the office staff overcharging us for the experience, which put a downer on the day, as I was told I wasn't able to do the bobsleigh unless we paid more. This was eventually resolved by the owner when he apologised for the error and confirmed no further payment was needed. I advise you pay the balance in full before the trip to avoid incompetent staff trying to overcharge you.
