1. Our Role
Riga Guide acts solely as a booking intermediary between customers and independent local activity providers.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, Riga Guide does not own, operate or control the boats, vehicles, venues, equipment, accommodation, attractions or other facilities used in connection with the activities offered on our website.
Each activity is delivered by an independent local operator who is solely responsible for the operation, maintenance, safety and legal compliance of their equipment and services.
2. Availability
All bookings are subject to the availability of the relevant operator and their equipment.
While we always endeavour to secure the exact activity, vessel, vehicle or facility advertised or requested, availability cannot be guaranteed in circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
3. Equipment Failure and Operational Changes
From time to time, activities may need to be modified due to circumstances outside our control, including but not limited to:
- unexpected technical or mechanical failures;
- safety considerations;
- weather conditions;
- operational restrictions;
- decisions made by the independent operator;
- force majeure events.
Where reasonably possible, we will endeavour to offer:
- an equivalent replacement experience of a comparable standard; or
- an alternative date; or
- a full refund if no suitable alternative can be provided or accepted.
4. Notification of Changes
We will notify customers of any significant changes as soon as reasonably practicable after we receive the relevant information from the activity provider.
As Riga Guide is not the operator of the activities, there may be situations where we receive information only shortly before the scheduled activity.
In such cases, we cannot accept responsibility for delays in notification that are outside our reasonable control.
5. Equivalent Replacements
Where an equivalent replacement is offered due to circumstances outside our control, reasonable differences in the exact vessel, vehicle, equipment or facility shall not automatically constitute a failure to provide the booked service.
An equivalent replacement will be selected with the aim of maintaining the overall nature, quality and value of the experience wherever reasonably possible.
6. Customer Choice
If a significant change occurs before the activity begins, customers may choose between the options offered at that time, which may include accepting the alternative experience, rescheduling (where available), or receiving a refund where applicable.
Once a customer voluntarily accepts an alternative service and proceeds with the activity, this will normally be treated as acceptance of the substituted service, without affecting any statutory consumer rights.
Customer Confirmation of Changes
Where a material change to a booking is proposed before the activity commences (including a change of vessel, vehicle or venue), we will seek the customer’s written confirmation (email, WhatsApp or SMS where practicable) before the activity proceeds.
7. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such limitation is prohibited by applicable law.
Subject to the above, Riga Guide shall not be liable for losses, delays, cancellations or changes resulting from the actions, omissions or operational decisions of independent service providers, provided that Riga Guide has acted with reasonable care in arranging the booking and communicating relevant information once received.
8. Customer Support
If any issue arises before or during an activity, customers should contact Riga Guide immediately.
We will make every reasonable effort to assist in resolving the matter with the relevant operator and to achieve a fair outcome for all parties.
