Jautrā Lapsa or FunnyFox Bar might just be a good option for you if you’re in the mood for some affordable food and drinks in a laid back atmosphere right in the heart of the Old Riga.

One of their cool features is a very long bar, where you can sit and sip a drink with your mates. A huge blackboard that shows all of the available drinks from coffee to cocktails and specials runs alongside that. Once you want something more intimate, have a seat on one of the leather couches next to the window.

In terms of drinks, they have a good selection with local brews (i.e. “Bauskas” and “Lacplesis”) or foreign ones like Heinken and Guinness. Food menu has got a generous selection from chicken wings and pork chops to burgers. Give a try to their lunch specials, with soup, main course and a small beer for only 4 EUR.

Acoustic and Karaoke nights start around 10/11 pm. Sport and football events are also available on large TV screens.

Steph, our guide, was absolutely brilliant. Picked us up from our hotel and told us all about Riga on the commute to and from the bobsleigh track. The g-force bobsleigh was amazing (it feels like a roller-coaster) and we didn't have to wait long. There's also an observation deck where you can view the national park.
The only downside was an error by the office staff overcharging us for the experience, which put a downer on the day, as I was told I wasn't able to do the bobsleigh unless we paid more. This was eventually resolved by the owner when he apologised for the error and confirmed no further payment was needed. I advise you pay the balance in full before the trip to avoid incompetent staff trying to overcharge you.
