“Depo” is a club in the Old that could be proudly called a veteran of Riga underground club music scene. Operating since March 16, 2002 it is one of the veterans of the Riga club scene and has already became a sort of a mekka for hip locals and travelers.

The most exciting thing is how Depo managed to create a unique atmosphere, where Indie groups and electronic DJ’s, garage bands and an alternative crowd can co-exist happily in this club. All together the club may fit up to 150 in one go between its three rooms and a top bar floor.

Depo is also one of the few to host rock, hard rock, hardcore, heavy metal, punk, reggae and experimental music concert pretty much on weekly basis. Watch the bands perform in two large rooms in the basement and be amazed by how you can hear a heavy-metal, soft rock and quite a chilled electronic music during the same night.

This is definitely a place recommended to visit and spend an evening, just make sure you check out the agenda for that night.

Steph, our guide, was absolutely brilliant. Picked us up from our hotel and told us all about Riga on the commute to and from the bobsleigh track. The g-force bobsleigh was amazing (it feels like a roller-coaster) and we didn't have to wait long. There's also an observation deck where you can view the national park.
The only downside was an error by the office staff overcharging us for the experience, which put a downer on the day, as I was told I wasn't able to do the bobsleigh unless we paid more. This was eventually resolved by the owner when he apologised for the error and confirmed no further payment was needed. I advise you pay the balance in full before the trip to avoid incompetent staff trying to overcharge you.
