After nearly twenty years of runaway capitalism and an economy that has collapsed, some Latvians are looking back to the past (but we guess it could be a world-wide trend that started after World Economy Recession 3 years ago).
Cafe Leningrad is a cafe (during a day) and a bar (in the eveing and night) with a retro Soviet interior of assorted communist relics and even period furniture is as good a place as any to enjoy a drink. Or as somebody once mentioned interior is like a saloon of family in soviet times. Its made like an apartment, there are even bookshelves with actual books from Soviet times. And they also do have some live concerts and poetry evenings every now and then.
Musical delights are lined up by the dozen to take your world by storm. Loads of inspiring music, live bands, music events and concerts are on offer to keep you entertained.
The beer might not be as cheap as it was in Gorbachev’s time, but for Old Riga the local Brengulu (Dark and Lager) and Czech Kozel (Dark and Lager) are certainly affordable. Prices are in a range of 1-1.50 Lats for a pint

Soviet name, Soviet interior (looks like a soviet time apartment) but 100% Latvian, with bookshelves and books of soviet times, board games, even a sofa. They also organize concerts, poetry evenings, watch Family Guy and ice-hockey chanmpionship
The atmosphere – GREAT! People – all like a big family 
But the best thing is definitely the beer they serve – Brengulu beer -> Live beer with fantastic taste! Brengulu beer is a must in Leningrad!
